Admissions

Horizons students are drawn from a diverse group of children in lower Fairfield County. Applications to the program are accepted each year between October 1st and January 15th. Once parents have completed the application, Horizons receives information about each candidate from the child’s school system. Admission is very competitive, and all decisions are completed by late March.
 
Income is a factor in the admission decisions. We use the federal meal guidelines governing a family’s qualification for free or reduced price school lunches to determine eligibility for Horizons. All children attend on full scholarship; we do not have a sliding scale. There is a $50 registration fee, which is waived in cases of extreme hardship.

Applications for Summer 2012 are now available . New student applications are due to the Horizons office on January 15, 2012. 

For current Students who are returning to the 2012 Summer Program:

Students who were part of our Summer Program in 2011 are required to attend a Re-enrollment Evening to get the required paperwork to Horizons. The evenings will be the following dates:

  • K-5th GRADE RE-ENROLLMENT NIGHT WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 17TH AT 5:30PM
  • 6TH - 8TH GRADE RE-ENROLLMENT NIGHT WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST AT 5:30PM
