Horizons Giving Day: Double Your Impact for Year-Round Student Success

Make a life-changing difference for underserved students in our community: Horizons at New Canaan Country School (NCCS) is holding its annual Horizons Giving Day, with an advance giving period underway since May 1 and culminating on Wednesday, May 14. The first Horizons program began at New Canaan Country School in 1964. Today, this impactful non-profit provides 400 students annually with comprehensive academic and enrichment programming throughout the year. Horizons at NCCS offers a vital six-week summer program for students in kindergarten through ninth grade, as well as enriching school-year programming including Saturday sessions for grades kindergarten through ten, a dedicated high school program, and valuable family programming.

The Bauer Family Foundation has generously offered a $20,000 matching gift challenge, meaning your donation will go twice as far to support vital resources like busing and tutoring. Every dollar donated directly fuels learning, encourages academic success, and helps close the opportunity gap for deserving students.

When Horizons at NCCS makes a commitment to a student, it is a long-term investment. Many students join the program in kindergarten and remain engaged through high school graduation and even into early college. This model works, and its success is evident in the outstanding high school and college outcomes: 100% of Horizons 12th grade students graduate from high school in four years, and 95% enroll in college or other post-secondary programs.

Horizons at NCCS is a non-profit organization that relies on annual fundraising to cover the entire cost of their tuition-free, year-round programming. Proceeds raised during this year’s Horizons Giving Day will directly support these crucial programs, including the costs of busing, tutoring, academic coaching, college tours, and more.
