Serving Children from Norwalk and Stamford

Horizons Director of Student and Family Support

Nehemie came to Horizons back in 2001 as a sixth grader. She immediately embraced the community and became a leader among her peers. Once in high school, Nehemie became involved with the Matthew Gaffney Foundation and she made the introduction to create a relationship between Gaffney and Horizons that still exists today. Nehemie went to college at University of Vermont and every college summer she came back to work at Horizons as a Teaching Assistant and/ or a lifeguard, but always as a leader. After Nehemie graduated from UVM she took on the role of an Academic Coach to inspire younger Horizons students to pursue their dreams.

Today Nehemie is our School Year Program Director and Summer Junior Program Director at Horizons at New Canaan Country School. She helps to lead our Parent Program and is our Student and Family Advocate. Nehemie is a model of success for all Horizons students.
